Why our donors give:

“The Children’s Center has been an exceptional resource for my family. It has provided us with guidance, instruction and encouragement. We have watched our son, Aaron, blossom as a result of the wonderful environment and resources offered at The Children’s Center.” — Karen Wurtz, mother of Aaron

“Now that Leila is officially a kindergartener at another school, I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt feelings about your Center.  Leila and I experienced only positive, friendly people.  Every morning we were greeted with smiles and were on a first-name basis.  The ambience of your Center was friendly, cheerful, clean and positive.  IT went beyond my expectations.  You felt like family who were there to help in any way you could.  Her teacher, Mrs. Kathy, knew just how to handle her with love, kindness and firmness.  We worked as a team, almost daily talking about Leila’s behavior with suggestions on how to improve it.  Ms. Kathy was easy to talk with and always reassuring that we both keep on the same page with discipline, e.g., pointing out Leila’s good qualities to praise.  Leila really learned to love and respect Ms. Kathy.  She was for all purposes Leila’s second mom.”  — Rose Arnold, grandmother of Leila.

“Your program here is more than child care – it is family care, and it has been life-changing for all of us.  It makes the realities of our working lives possible and peaceable.  Our son, Ian, has been nurtured, and treated with respect and kindness from day one, by everyone on your team.  Every child care program should be like this.  What you have established and accomplished here is incredibly amazing and truly special.” – The Jarvis Family

Your gift will help fund the following programs and services of The Children’s Center:

Futures Fund

Our mission is to never turn away anyone because they can’t pay in full. Because we have low student-to-teacher ratios and provide necessary services based on the child’s need, not the parents’ ability to pay, The Children’s Center has operational needs beyond yearly client revenues. We know there is a great need in the community for our services evidenced by the thousands of children we serve each year, and we continue to respond to the community by offering expanded services and programs. In order to sustain these services long into the future, we have created The Children’s Center Futures Fund. This fund protects the future of The Children’s Center by establishing a quasi endowment where the principal can be invested and earnings can support any operational shortfalls or capital needs. Your gift now will continue to help children long into the future.
Total need: $1 million to establish an endowment fund; more than $850,000 raised to date

Scholarship Fund

The Julius Miller Scholarship Fund is available to families who may be unable to pay the cost of services provided at The Children’s Center. The recipient of any scholarship money is required to complete a financial intake form. A scholarship committee reviews the application and awards the money accordingly. Since 2002, over 200 children have received scholarships to receive services they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to afford. With your help, we can continue to help children to receive the exceptional services that enable them to grow and develop to their fullest potential.
